I strive to capture light and perspective in my paintings and I particularly love to paint trees, woodlands, the seashore and clouds
with a sense of drawing the viewer into the scene. I enjoy building layers into my paintings by adding the more delicate detail
over the initial colour work to create depth and intimacy.

 "Streaking the Sky with Gold"Driving home from Weymouth along the coast road one evening in May and the scenery was magical!  Boots On, We're Going for a WalkWe found a number of these beautiful old arched wooden window frames with a centre brass bar several years ago when trawling Bridport market and now I've started painting I can put them to use with a difference!  "Shingle Path, Heading for Portland"Behind the shingle beach at Abbotsbury is a little road that takes you along to West Bexington. A lovely walk, but often after bad weather the sea throws the shingle up and over the road and the walking becomes a little more difficult! This view is heading back towards Abbotsbury with the distinctive shape of Portland in the distance.  "May Bright - White Hill Woods"It was one of those eye dazzlingly bright May days when the light just bounces back at you! Walking up through White Hill Woods and away from the canopy of leaves, the trees in the distance disappeared into bright white and the green of the leaves became more and more yellow.
